Oh well.
Dubai: I’m thankful. It was worth it.
On to the next.
And no jetlag. Awesome. However, I’ll catch up on the post-dubai blogs after I do some PASO work. Lots to do.
The time has almost come :(
Pretty much all packed, and hoping they allow me to take all this luggage. Holy moly.
Let’s recap my night:
I went to Deira City Center to meet up with my cousin Oliver (Kuya Bet Bet), and his brother-in-law Xryn. Ate Shygh wasn’t feeling well, so she didn’t join us. He had some gifts for the family, and he took me to a buffet. Ponderosa. Lol it was pretty much like…Hometown Buffet, except it was a steak house too, and the buffet is also included. PERFECT. The steak was good. :) & The good Lord knows how much I love my steak.

After dinner, I had to meet up with Auntie Sally to get the shishas…so Kuya, X, and I walked there since it was pretty close by. Kuya & X left, and I chilled there for a while because I asked Auntie if she could drop me back home.
I only knew how to get back to Sharjah by sight, not by name, so we eventually found it. Auntie Sally made me all teary when she said bye -__- Then I texted her soon after telling her thank you again for everything and how generous she’s been. <3
Ugh I can’t believe this trip is really over. =[ I’m about to lay down now. 2 hour nap or so, until I shower and get ready to go to the airport around 6.
Oh Ms. Frizzle, the Arabic food was really good!
And shisha from time to time. I could have easily bought a shisha from Berkeley…but how often can you say you bought yours in Dubai? :)
My favorite part of my trip: There’s so much!
But…aside from seeing this amazingly beautiful city, my favorite part of this trip was being able to see family that I haven’t seen in SO long.
When I turned 18, my first goal was to come here by myself. But I didn’t have a U.S. passport yet, and after I got that, I set my goal last summer to save money for this trip. Being here, and being able to see the city I was born in, hear stories in another perspective other than my mom, it’s legitimized this place for me, in a sense. I came here to reclaim a part of me that I don’t have much memory of, and I’m glad to say that now I’ll be able to remember this trip.
Also simple things, like sitting down, and physically talking to my brothers about anything. The other day I was sitting on the computer, and one of my brothers came behind me and kissed the top of my head. That, and all of this, I will remember, and not take for granted.
I need to stop sleeping, but I feel hella tired. I woke up at 1 again, but I slept at 4.
It’s my last full day in Dubai. Kuya Daryl’s going to work tonight, and I’m planning to have dinner with Kuya Bet Bet later. Auntie Sally also bought 2 medium shishas for me and Uncle. Uh yeah, I’m definitely shipping stuff home.
These 3 weeks have been amazing. It’s gone by really fast…
I’ll save this post for after the day’s over. I’ve caught up on my blogs, I need to shower, and pack a bit.
